Aria is a teenager in the enclosed city of Reverie. Like all Dwellers, she spends her time with friends in virtual environments, called Realms, accessed through an eyepiece called a Smarteye. Aria enjoys the Realms and the easy life in Reverie. When she is forced out of the pod for a crime she did not commit, she believes her death is imminent. The outside world is known as The Death Shop, with danger in every direction.

As an Outsider, Perry has always known hunger, vicious predators, and violent energy storms from the swirling electrified atmosphere called the Aether. A bit of an outcast even among his hunting tribe, Perry withstands these daily tests with his exceptional abilities, as he is gifted with powerful senses that enable him to scent danger, food and even human emotions.

They come together reluctantly, for Aria must depend on Perry, whom she considers abarbarian, to help her get back to Reverie, while Perry needs Aria to help unravel the mystery of his beloved nephew’s abduction by the Dwellers. Together they embark on a journey challenged as much by their prejudices as by encounters with cannibals and wolves. But to their surprise, Aria and Perry forge an unlikely love - one that will forever change the fate of all who live UNDER THE NEVER SKY

The first book in a captivating trilogy, Veronica Rossi’s enthralling debut sweeps you into an unforgettable adventure.
First off, how awesome sounding is this title. It's one of those titles that will grab you and get you to read the synopsis, which is exactly what happened to me. After reading the summary, I was even more sure that I wanted to read the book.

The book started off very confusing for me. It took me about 100 pages to understand what was even going on. Once I caught on, the book flew by for me. It was interesting and original and I can't wait to read the second book.

I think my favorite part of the book was the characters, especially Aria and Perry. What I loved most about them was that they didn't have the insta-love connection. They actually hated each other. Aria thought Perry was a disgusting cannibal and Perry couldn't stand the way Aria smelled. Watching their love unfold was very realistic and I enjoyed every aspect of it.  Perry was a very interesting character and I kept wanting to know more and more about him.

Even the secondary characters brought a lot to the story too! I enjoyed them all.

Under the Never Sky also has a bit of mystery that I was never able to figure out. I never knew what was going to happen. Each page brought something new to the story and I was completely fascinated.

Under the Never Sky comes highly recommended! You won't be disappointed!

My only issue is the cover. I don't like it at all. The UK cover is perfect though! I think it captures so much about what the book is about, and I really like how Aria and Perry are portrayed on it.

Here is the UK cover-Which one do you like best?

  1. Great review. I'm definitely looking forward to reading this book. As for the covers, I prefer the UK one too. Stands out more to me. Kind of reminds me of anime in a way.

  4. This book definitely takes awhile to adjust to, but WOW, it was amazing by the end!

I'm a fan of both covers - I love the US font and coloring, but I like how the characters are pictured on the UK.

    Happy Blogoversary, Kristina! :)

  6. Glad you liked this one so much! I've seen it around but hadn't really put it on my TBR list....until now. Your post tipped the scale! Great review! (oh, and I can't decide which cover I like best...both don't make much sense to me).

  7. Once Perry and Aria meet up in the deadly wasteland that is the future, their lives change forever as the Aether flows under the never sky and a breath of the world never can take on a whole new meaning into the lives of two people as they struggle to survive and save each other.
