“There would be no happy ending for us. He was too damaged. I was too broken.”

Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.

The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.

Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”

Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “the Hammer.”

Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.

Lorrie knows that Hunter is the exact type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.

As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?
I received this galley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Netgalley and Blackbird Publishing.

This one wasn't even on my radar until I saw a sponsored ad on facebook for it. I noticed it was a read now so I figured it couldn't hurt to try it out. I thought it was just going to be another Beautiful Disaster and since I wasn't a huge fan of that one, I didn't have high hopes for this one. I am so happy I gave it a try, because I ABSOLUTELY LOVED it!! It was original, sweet and an easy read.

Ever since Lorrie's mom was murdered and her dad killed himself, she hasn't been the same. She knows what people say about her, and she was really nervous about going back to school. While reading her dad's suicide note, yet again, Lorrie falls into a frozen lake and Hunter jumps in to save her. From the very beginning the two of them have this wonderful, sweet chemistry. Lorrie isn't ready for a relationship, so the two of them decide to just be friends. Eventually that friendship turns into love, and I loved watching those feelings for each other develop and grow.

I loved Hunter! You think he is just going to be the stereotypical bad boy with a past. He is kind of a slut, and he is a cage fighter. But he is so sweet and kind and really smart. He's a psychics major for crying out loud! I instantly loved him. And I loved that he was so much more than what I was expecting him to be.  When we finally figured out what his secret, my heart broke for him, and it wasn't anything that I was expecting. Even before this horrible thing happened to him, he hadn't had an easy life, but I love that he overcame all of that. And the whole situation with the kitties! Oh. My. God! I think that is when I fell in love with him.

Wrecked is a beautiful story about dealing with life's curve balls and moving on from them. I haven't been given many books five stars anymore because I feel that I just keep reading the same story over and over again, but I loved this one, and I highly recommend it!
