When Calla Tor wakes up in the lair of the Searchers, her sworn enemies, she's certain her days are numbered. But then the Searchers make her an offer, one that gives her the chance to destroy her former masters and save the pack and the man she left behind. Is Ren worth the price of her freedom? And will Shay stand by her side no matter what? Now in control of her own destiny, Calla must decide which battles are worth fighting and how many trials true love can endure and still survive.
Let me just start by saying that I am obsessed with this series! I thought Nightshade was one of the best books I have ever read, and with Wolfsbane, this series is just getting better and better! The characters are beautifully written and the plot and writing is so original and captivating!

Wolfsbane starts off right where Nightshade left off. Calla and Shay ran off from the ritual, and she ends up getting kidnapped. Turns out the Searchers are the ones who have her. Her entire life Calla has learned how dangerous the Searchers were, but Calla soon realizes that the Searchers aren't who she thought they were.

From page 1, I was completely engrossed in the story. Calla learns a lot about the history of the Guardians and the Keepers, and I was fascinated the entire time. I also loved seeing the real side of the Searchers. Every single one of them was great. Connor was my favorite and I can't wait to read more about him and the rest of the Searchers!

While there was still the underlying issue of the love triangle, it wasn't as prominent in this book then it was in the first book. Ren doesn't even show up until one of the last chapters! But I am Team Shay all of the way. I absolutely love him! Calla wasn't as kick-ass as she was in the first book, but I think that is because she is so busy trying to distinguish between the truth and the lies she has been told her entire life.

I am so excited to read Bloodrose, the third and final book in the Nightshade series! I would definitely recommend this series to anyone looking for an amazing read!

  1. Oh, I love this series as well :) Bloodrose is a real shocker, I have to say though. I didn't love it nearly as much as the first two books. I LOVED all the background info and explanations we get in Wolfsbane- and I'll forgive you for being a Shay fan ;)

    Brenna from Esther's Ever After

  2. I love these books. Its not vampire against werewolves. Or Werewolves fighting a big fight - it something to do w/ demons. Different. The love she feels for him is differenet and she gives into him when she couldn't with the other alpha male.

  3. Great review! I liked this book . . . but I wanted more of Ren!!!!!

  4. So excited to see someone else who likes Shay! Most of the internet seems to prefer Ren :( I just checked out Bloodrose so I'm dying to see what happens in the conclusion!
