From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance—and the enchanting music that inspires one young woman to put her life back together.

At twenty-two years old, aspiring musician Sydney Blake has a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her good friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter cheating on her with Tori—and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by her mysterious neighbor, Ridge Lawson. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the daily guitar playing he does out on his balcony. She can feel the harmony and vibrations in his music. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either: He seems to have finally found his muse. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one.
I received this galley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Atria books.

From the moment I started Maybe Someday, I knew that I was going to love it. I have been a huge fan of Colleen Hoover since her self publishing days, and this book was no exception. Her writing is so captivating, that you have no choice but to keep reading no matter what else you are supposed to be doing. Her characters are so realistic and relatable, and I fell in love with both Sydney and Ridge. I finished this book about a month ago, and I am STILL thinking about it. I can't wait to have some free time so I can re read it!

The story starts with Sydney finding out her boyfriend and best friend have been sleeping together. With no where else to go, her neighbor Ridge, who she doesn't know very well except for their nightly guitar and song writing moments from different porches, offers to let her sleep at his place. The story then backtracks two weeks to see how the two of them met. Just the way Hoover started the beginning of the book was different and original, and I was completely hooked!

While I have loved every single one of Hoover's characters, I can easily say the Sydney and Ridge are my absolute favorites. I don't think it can get any better then these two. They are both so sweet, kind and have the most believable and real connection. They were also both extremely funny. There were so many times I found myself laughing hysterically, it's a good thing I wasn't reading this book in public or I would have been completely embarrassed.

What also made this book extremely special was the fact that Sydney and Ridge wrote music together. Sydney wrote the lyrics and Ridge wrote the music for it. I loved reading the amazing lyrics that they came up with together. In real life, the lyrics and music were written by the amazing and talented Griffin Peterson. I have not been able to stop listening to all the songs, and I highly recommend listening to the music as you read the sections in the book. This brought so much to the story.

Maybe Someday is one of my favorite books of 2014 and actually, I think it's probably one of my favorite books of all time. There was just something so amazing and wonderful about this story. From the plot, to the characters, and to the music, this story is not to be missed!
