Follow Friday # 4

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Rachel of Parajunkee and Alison of Alison Can Read! It's a great way to meet new blogger friends!

This weeks question is:

Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader, did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?

A: In HS and College I was a sporadic reader. I would read what was required of me, and a few other books on the side but that's it. When I graduated college in 2007, I read Catcher in the Rye. The first time I read it I was in the 10th grade and I hated it and I remember being the only one in my class who did! Now that I was older the story just meant so much more to me. It also turned me into an avid reader. I love reading, and I'm so glad I picked up Catcher in the Rye and gave it another shot.

  1. I remember having to read Cather in the Rye for school. I am pretty sure I recall reading it once I was done and enjoying it more than when I had to read it. Happy weekend.

  2. I was never in a class that required Catcher in the Rye, so I read it on my own and I really enjoyed it! It turned me on to reading more classics and I'm so glad I read it!

  5. Oh wow. I would've never guess that Catcher in the Rye had that kind of impact on someone. I've always heard that people hate, but love it. I'm definitely going to have to read it.

  6. Hopping through. I wasn't a big fan of Catcher in the Rye. My dad said that it's because I didn't grow up in the 50s. But lots of people younger than that love it. Maybe I'm not enough of a rebel.
